Sheshappa Kavi (1730–1820 AD) was a great devotee who dedicated his entire life to Lord Narasimha and expressed his devotion through poetry. He composed three celebrated śatakas—Narahari, Nrusimha, and Nr̥kesari. Among these, the Nrusimha Śatakam became especially renowned across the Telugu states. In earlier times, it was taught in local schools, and the people of Dharmapuri still live deeply by its moral and spiritual teachings.
