Chintamani Cheruvu

Chintamani Cheruvu is a historic water reservoir of the Dharmapuri kshetra, located in the central part of the village. This tank was originally used for irrigation. Later, it contributed to the development of the surrounding areas. The stone-built sluices were connected to the Koneru through underground channels. There is a belief that the water from the tank was used for abhishekam in the Shiva temple. This water body is also known by the name Varaha Tirtha.

During the Brahmotsavam, people come to its banks and take soil believed to contain putta bangaram. In addition, during Dussehra, when a procession takes place near it, viewing one’s reflection in the water and sprinkling that water on oneself is a customary practice.
