Responsible & Sustainable Pilgrimage Guide

As visitors to this sacred Kshetram, we hold the responsibility of preserving its purity, tranquility, and natural environment. Please follow these key guidelines to make your journey mindful and sustainable.

Protect River Godavari

Protect River Godavari

Do not use soaps or detergents in the River Godavari. It is a living entity and home to diverse aquatic organisms; soaps disrupt their habitat. Please avoid rinsing clothes with soap in the river as well.

Secure Your Food (Monkey Warning)

Secure Your Food (Monkey Warning)

Do not leave food unattended or throw loose food as trash. Dharmapuri has a significant monkey population; exposed food attracts them and leads to behavior that harasses other pilgrims.

Reduce Noise Pollution

Reduce Noise Pollution

Be quiet and respectful in public and sacred places. Keep noise levels minimal to preserve the peaceful, spiritual ambiance of the Kshetram.

Carry a Waste Bag

Carry a Waste Bag

Always carry a small trash bag with you. Collect wrappers, kumkum sachets, and other waste, and dispose of them only at designated bins.

Do Not Discard Clothes in the River

Do Not Discard Clothes in the River

Leaving clothes in the river as part of ending a vow (Deeksha upasamharana) causes severe pollution, blocks drainage, and spawns harmful moss and algae. Please take your clothes with you or dispose of them at designated bins.

Tie Threads in Designated Places

Tie Threads in Designated Places

Do not tie kankanalu, mudupulu, or other sacred threads at random locations. It defeats the purpose and makes cleaning extremely difficult. Always use designated spots. If unsure, please ask the temple staff.
